More Music in the News
Thursday March 29, 2007
As a follow up to yesterday's post about the death of CDs, here are two more links worth checking out. The first one , from MSN, is an opinion piece that suggests that the internet has leveled the playing field between the major labels and indie labels, and that anyone wishing to be involved in the music biz in any way these days has to able to use the internet to their advantage to garner attention for themselves. The other link is to the newly launched Rock the Net site, home to a campaign which aims to keep content on the internet free and accessible to everyone, founded in part by the Future of Music Coalition . These issues have a huge impact on everyone in the music industry, whether you are an artist,or you're on the business side of things. So, what do you think? Is the internet the indie artist's best friend (perhaps contrary to yesterday's post about CDs)? Where do you stand on Net Neutrality ?
