What Happens When The Band Breaks Up?

When you work with other musicians, it's bound to happen at one point or another - the big break up. Sometimes, parting ways with your musical partners is nice and easy. Sometimes, it's war. The more strides the group has made together, the more complicated the issues you all have to solve when you decide to split up will be. On top of the practical complexities, breaking up a band can be an extremely stressful, emotionally draining affair. The phrase "handbags at dawn" comes to mind, but what might look like Oscar worthy drama in retrospect can feel very, very real when it's happening, and that can cloud your ability to make smart decisions about the truly important stuff - who gets the amp you all chipped in to buy, what are you going to do with your leftover stock, and so on.
