Forum Question: What Would You Do?

Thursday November 13, 2008

We've got a great new question in the forum from a reader who has just finished recording a new album (called Forbidden Fruit - is that a Norman Hedman reference, I wonder?). She's trying to decide if her best bet is to focus on releasing the album herself or to focus on trying to get a label deal. I know what I think, but I wonder - what about you? If you've been in a similar situation, how did you handle it? What worked for you and what didn't? If you're in the same boat now, what are you plans? I'd love it if you could stop by the forum and share your experience. You can find the original question here.

Of course, this is also a good chance to throw up some links to your own projects as you're sharing your wisdom - so go ahead, let us know what you're working on!

I’m somewhat in that same boat. I am a promotion company that not only promotes businesses but also entertainment. However, my promotion isn’t all I do its really a production company that specialty is promotion. I do artist development, bookings, management, networking opportunities, graffitis, studio, producing, as well as getting an artist signed to a label, last but not lest promotion of concerts events. Too much in one company, right? Will it rise or fall your opinion please.
