An agent is one of the first things most musicians want as they start getting serious about their music careers, but the reality is that, most often, you or your manager has to put in some serious time booking your own shows before you can start looking attractive to an agent. And, of course, "want" and "need" are two different things. How do you know when the time has actually come that an agent is a must-have member of your time?
