How to Work with Your Concert Promoter

By December 17, 2012

Ah, so you've booked a show with a music promoter - now it's time to sit back while they make a bunch of people come out to see you play, right? Not so much. You may be tempted to play the "hey, you're the promoter and I'm the musician, so you promote, and I'll do music" routine - and for reasons that fail me, some musicians do just that - but in reality, pulling off a great concert is a all-hands-on-deck affair. Promoters don't book shows they don't think they can promote, but they definitely need you to be involved in the process for things to work.

Help your promoter help you have a big night - one in which new fans and maybe even money are made - by following these steps.
