Center for Music and Arts Entrepreneurship: What Is It?:

The Center for Music and Arts Entrepreneurship at Loyola University is the home base for the New Orleans Music, Entertainment and Education Consortium. This project, funded largely through a government grant, is designed to help the music community learn to make a living from their craft. Although the focus is on the New Orleans music community, the Center's website makes the teaching tools they create available to everyone.

Loyola Student Businesses:

The Center for Music and Arts Entrepreneurship offers students in Loyola's College of Music and Fine Arts a chance to really get their hands dirty in the music industry outside of the classroom. The students are responsible for creating the content for Center's website, including web tutorials. They also run 15 companies - student organizations - each focusing on a different aspect of the music industry. You can learn more about these student run companies here.

The experience students get here is invaluable when it comes time to seek a job after college.

Public Interaction:

The Center's website is open for public interaction. Users can create profiles, add their own videos, ask questions and trade advice with others trying to get established in the music industry. A number of user groups exist on the website dedicated to various music industry focuses.
