You need to think about who your target audience is, and it may be different for different aspect of your music industry conference. If your conference is focusing on your local music scene, you may have a keynote speaker who'll attract delegates from the industry, workshops that will appeal to local musicians and a headlining gig that will attract the general public. Think about how to promote the conference to the target audience and whether you'll want to sell tickets for individual events, a pass for the whole conference or a combination of the two.
