What to Expect at Benicassim:
Benicassim is a four day, camping festival in the small Spanish town of Benicassim (which is about half way between Barcelona and Valencia). Although the bill of the festival is is pretty heavy on indie rock acts - it's a top stop on tours of the big name indie bands during the summer festival season, there is also much more the festival. There are several different stages that showcase many genres of music (electronica is particularly popular as Benicassim) and there is also a large village area of festivals with lots of artists showing their work.

Play at Benicassim:
Benicassim is a hard gig to get, like most big music festivals, but they do have one way for up and coming bands to get a shot at getting on the bill. Their Proyecto Demo program lets bands apply for a place to play at the festival - a varying number of bands are chosen every year.
Outside of the Proyecto Demo program, the first port of call for anyone interested in playing Benicassim should be the website of Fiber Fib, the promoters in charge of the festival.
