What Do You Cover on Your Blog?
I am a Metal Head by nature, but my artist development blog is not genre specific. The main purpose of my blog is to pass on information that may be beneficial in the development of an artist's career. The key focus is Artist Development, Music Success Tips, and Marketing & Promotion.
This is done by sharing my own personal success stories as a working musician, as well as occasionally reprinting a post written by other industry professionals.
The blog also features a Live Blogroll which links to selected posts from industry professionals I follow on a regular basis.
How Did You Start Your Blog
I use the WordPress format on my own hosted domain. Hostmonster.com was chosen because they offer everything you will ever need in a hosting company, including live, 24hr, non-outsourced help! Promotion is done simply by way of social networking.
Advice
- My motto is: Network or Die! Therefore, I extend an open invitation to all industry bloggers to contact me if interested in publishing a story. My own posts stem from personal experience and I write for the readers, not the search engines. My advice: Be real!
