I sort of evolved into management, I started out booking bands and promoting events, and soon into pitching publishing and finally encompassing them all, I landed in management
What Tips Can You Offer Aspiring Managers?
Network, and more networking. You have to get out there and meet people and build relationships. People work and trust those who they know. Go to shows, attend industry events, shake hands, introduce yourself and let people know what you do or are wanting to do. Be perisitent and never give up. It's your dream, right?
Advice
- Work hard on your own. Don't look for a manager and expect them to be able to turn you into a star. You have to work hard, very hard on your own. By doing so, you will attract a manager. If you don't have income coming in, and some things already going well on your own, you become less attractive. So go get some things going!
