How Did You Get Started as a Producer?
I was always into creation of music, started off with a rap group when I was about 14 and I created all the music with a old Yamaha Keyboard. I spent more time creating the music for our group than writing lyrics. It became a passion. It became a challenge to out do myself and create a better sound than before.
I was driven on not being or creating a templated sound, but a sound that is equally demanded!!
How Can Musicians Help You Do Your Job Better?
Just be professional and be prepared... And most of all be sober. After the session, you are free to do what you want, but during please be sober.
If you are a vocalist please be prepared and rehearse before coming in and recording. Many people eat up alot of Studio time due to not being prepared. Singing the wrong notes, singing the wrong words.. etc. Too many takes gets very frustrating for everyone.
Most of all just relax. We are all human and I will get you a desired finished product.
Advice
- Never stop... It's hours and hours of work. While other producers are sleeping. I'm still working. Try to develop a sound that is distinct to you, meaning that if it's heard everyone will know you produced it...
