Share Your ThoughtsChoosing a Distributor
- I've been considering some of the choices for online marketing. I've been advised to retain my rights, while looking for the company who is the most fair, and who covers the greatest number of digital download outlets and services. Is there a comparison forum, and/or place where musicians have voiced their preferences and complaints? Any suggestions as to who to go with for maximum return, widest distribution and who pays on time...while retaining my rights?

It actually depends...
- I think they all are easy to break in. It just that pop or mellow songs with a catchy beat are easyer to get an audience. It actually depends on the artist, their lyrics, the message they are trying to tell the world.

Yes, Genre matters!
- I'm an artist (singer/songwriter) that writes classic rock styled songs. It is by far the hardest genre to break into these days. Since the 70's and 80's the genre has disappeared. Until someone in the industry (that matters), decides to put something in that genre out, there will be :Pop, Hard death metal and rap until our ears explode! JohnDalyProject.com

Pop
- Pop music is the easiest genre to get into these days, with new artist popping up every day. But really, every genre is equal if you just try.

Screaming
- I would say the heavy metal where the singer insists on screaming/growling. I used to be in a band like this and began to hate it along with many other people. its just a loud noice and has a rather small market.
